Trade Only Customers

Trade customers who are VAT Registered need to print off and fill out the TRADE ONLY CUSTOMER ( VAT REGISTERED ) form correctly and together with your form & proof of registered Trade Name post your gold to us directly. This will ensure your gold reaches us as quickly as possible and we recommend you fully insure your parcel. Please note we only accept deliveries that come directly to us and will not be responsible for any packages left at a different address, and only when we receive your package will we be responsible for it. Therefore, we highly recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery service which allows you to insure Jewellery.

Retail Customers

Members of the general public can enter their details on this website by going to the FREE SELLERS PACK and entering their name, address & contact details. We will then post a free sellers pack returnable envelope to you and a completion form asking for a summary of the items you will be sending to us. Please read further for an easy step by step account of what you need to do.

HOW TO SELL YOUR GOLD ONLINE

If you post your gold to us we will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your package. Make sure you pack your gold carefully into the jiffy bag we provided. Read and fill out the form making sure to answer all fields that are required to be filed in. List your items on the form and if you know the weight and purity of your gold you can use the calculator on our website to give an approximate calculation of the value of your goods. If you are not sure of the purity or weight, not to worry, we will work it out for you. Read the Terms & Conditions of Devon Gold on our website and tick the box on your form confirming you have read and understood these.

Place your completed form inside the supplied bag we provided you with together with your gold, making sure it’s well packaged and be sure to seal the bag properly. Use our online calculator if you know your gold purities and weight to estimate the value of your items.

If visiting our shop location, we will assess your items there and then and Make You An Offer.

Step 3. In The Post Office

Once you have placed your gold items together with your completed form in to the sealable bag and sealed it you are then ready to take your package to the post office.

The postal bag we have supplied you is for Royal Mail Special Delivery & the insurance level is set at up to £750.00 for the total of the goods placed in the bag. When asked by the post office worker what the value is? we recommend you tell them the full amount of £750 as you will be surprised at the value of gold & platinum items these days. If you believe your items are more valuable you can pay at the post office for additional cover up to the value of £2,500.00 Make sure you keep your receipt in a safe place. If we buy your items and you can show proof of the amount you paid, we will refund you the difference along with the payment of your goods.

Step 4. When we receive your packet

Once we have received you Special Delivery parcel, we will open it in a video recorded environment for security. This way there can be no confusion as to what was sent. A member of our team will check and list all your items making sure all the items you sent have been included on your list as well. The items will then be weighed for there gold content and assessed to ascertain there correct purity. Once all of your items have been valued, we will contact you to make you an offer for your items. If you agree we will then proceed to pay you by your preferred method of payment. Bacs payments are our preferred method as the money can be paid straight into your bank account in a quick and easy transaction. A cheque can also be issued to you and we will endeavour to post your cheque on the same day we agree a price with you. Cash can also be sent to you but there is a £9 postal charge plus a further £10 charge for each cash transaction up to One Thousand Pounds to cover Devon Golds admin and banking fees. Cash limits per special delivery postage bag are set at £2,500 and this would therefore incur a £30 admin fee plus £9 postage charge.

Days where we have large volumes posted to us may mean that it takes an extra day to process all our packages. Prices will however be fixed at the rate set on our website on the day the package was received but this may result in your payment being processed a day later.
